Installing with Softaculous or Fantastico

Softaculous and Fantastico are popular auto-installers that simplify the process of installing various web applications, scripts, and content management systems (CMS) on your hosting server. Here’s a general guide on how to install applications using Softaculous or Fantastico:

Installing with Softaculous:

  1. Log in to cPanel:
    • Open your web browser and log in to your cPanel account provided by your hosting provider.
  2. Locate Softaculous:
    • Look for the Softaculous icon or the “Softaculous Apps Installer” section within your cPanel. It’s often found under the “Software” or “Services” category.
  3. Access Softaculous:
    • Click on the Softaculous icon to enter the Softaculous interface.
  4. Choose Application:
    • In Softaculous, you’ll see a list of available applications. Choose the one you want to install. Common applications include WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, and many others.
  5. Configure Installation:
    • Click on the “Install” button for the selected application. Fill out the required information, including the installation directory, admin username, password, and other settings.
  6. Advanced Options (Optional):
    • Softaculous often provides advanced options for customization. You can configure database settings, backup options, and other parameters according to your preferences.
  7. Install:
    • Once you’ve configured the installation settings, click the “Install” button. Softaculous will automatically handle the installation process.
  8. Completion and Access:
    • After the installation is complete, Softaculous will provide you with details such as the login URL, username, and password. Make a note of these details.

Installing with Fantastico (Note: Fantastico is becoming less common, and many hosting providers have shifted to Softaculous or other installers):

  1. Log in to cPanel:
    • Log in to your cPanel account provided by your hosting provider.
  2. Locate Fantastico:
    • Look for the Fantastico icon or the “Fantastico De Luxe” section within your cPanel. It’s often found under the “Software” or “Services” category.
  3. Access Fantastico:
    • Click on the Fantastico icon to enter the Fantastico interface.
  4. Choose Application:
    • In Fantastico, you’ll see a list of available applications. Choose the one you want to install, such as WordPress, Joomla, or others.
  5. Configure Installation:
    • Click on the “Install” or “New Installation” link. Fill out the required information, including installation directory, admin username, password, and other settings.
  6. Advanced Options (Optional):
    • Fantastico may provide additional options for customization. Adjust these settings according to your preferences.
  7. Install:
    • Once you’ve configured the installation settings, click the “Install” or “Submit” button. Fantastico will handle the installation process automatically.
  8. Completion and Access:
    • After the installation is complete, Fantastico will provide you with details such as the login URL, username, and password. Make a note of these details.
