I haven’t set up a website, why am I being billed for hosting?

Once your hosting package is established, the commencement of expenses for your website and the initiation of your package’s date occur simultaneously. The timeline for website development varies; some individuals take months to finalize their site, while others load their content within 24 hours of the hosting setup. Irrespective of the development progress of your site, hosting charges become due and payable because our hosting-related expenses commence on the day of setup. An illustrative example is the incurring of a monthly charge for control panel software, regardless of whether you actively utilize it.

In the event that you are not ready to initiate the development of your site immediately, we offer the option to initially register your domain name. However, it is imperative that we are informed of this preference from the outset. If there is a delay in your web development, we are more than willing to create a basic information page for your site upon request. This ensures that your website contains essential general information and contact details for visitors, allowing your development to commence at your convenience.

If you’re being billed for hosting without having set up a website, there could be a few reasons for this:

  1. Automatic Renewal: Hosting services often come with automatic renewals. If you initially signed up for a hosting plan and didn’t cancel it, the service may automatically renew, leading to charges.
  2. Domain Registration: If you registered a domain name along with the hosting service, you might be billed for the domain even if you haven’t set up a website. Domain registration is a separate service from hosting.
  3. Add-ons or Extras: Some hosting providers offer additional services or features that may be billed separately. Check your invoice or account details to see if there are any additional services you may not be aware of.
  4. Free Trials: If you initially signed up for a free trial of a hosting service and didn’t cancel before the trial period ended, you might be automatically transitioned to a paid plan.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Check your hosting account: Log in to your HZMFR client area and review your account details, invoices, or billing history to understand what services you are being billed for.
  2. Contact Customer Support: If you are unsure about the charges, contact our customer support. They can provide clarification on the charges and help you resolve any billing issues.
  3. Cancel Unwanted Services: If you find that you are being billed for services you don’t need, consider canceling or downgrading your hosting plan to a more suitable option.

Remember to review the terms and conditions of your hosting agreement to understand the cancellation policy and any potential fees associated with canceling services.
